Learning how to get outside with my reactive dogs

Welcome!!!!!

This website is for women who would like to get outside and bring their pain-in-the-ass dogs along. When I adopted my dogs, I thought they were automatically going to be calm and happy hikers, bikers, campers, paddlers, etc., because LOOK AT ALL OF THIS EXERCISE WE'RE GETTING!!! Outside!! Not in a shelter!! But, it turns out that trying to take a bunch of reactive dogs to do Fun Outside Things is actually very hard and I will never ever again believe what I see on Instagram. SO-I am an idiot, but here we are.  If don't want to spend the next 15 years locked in my house, I need to figure out how to handle them. And that, my friends, is the point of this blog.

This blog is about my attempts to learn how to train my dogs: all the sources I am using, all the techniques I am trying. I also write about our attempted adventures, successful adventures, hikes, campgrounds, rentals, camp setups, car setups, etc.,  so that you can decide what may work for you and your dogs!

Most of our early trips have been a disaster (see blog below), but I am slowly learning, and so can you.
