Having one dog, let alone 4, can be humbling, especially if you have no idea what you were doing. (Or, like me, thought you knew and then found out that YOU SURE DIDN'T) I could afford some training but mostly my husband and I have had to learn on our own. There are books and sites that were (are) helpful!!

Lucky Dog Lessons
The book that started it all. I read this and thought I was now an expert trainer (only to get Porter and realize I am actually just an idiot). BUT that's how easy-to-follow the steps are: you feel you will be an expert trainer in no time after reading this one!! I found the potty-training section especially helpful.

This little book packs in a ton of helpful information in very little space. I would start here if you are short on time. The dog body language charts were new to me and the first step in learning how to read Porter's feelings and keep him under threshold.
